The main rules of Ancient Greek Tragedy:

1. Violence and death are always off stage
2. All the action takes place in one single place
3. The stories are based on myths or historical events
4. Late point of attack
5. Continuous time of action
6. 3 actors rule
7. Actors were paid by the State
8. Facial expression not important - they were wearing masks
9. Men played all parts
10. The chorus was important - push forward the action
11. Music: Probably one single flute
12. Costumes: Adapted from everyday Greek Life

A musical is the ultimate form of the theater, including all 3 performing arts in a play.

Grade 1 and Grade 2 : Working on Fairy Tales; The Snow White Project



Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?

In this Character Mapping project which will last up to February 8, 2013 
the Drama Class students from Grade 1 and Grade 2 will familiarize themselves with this 
famous story and will work on the following activities:
    
  • Learn how to make a basic character maps.
  • Describe the plot and predict endings
  • Create simple props.  (magic mirror)
  • Answer questions such as : " why did the dwarfs warn Snow White not to let anyone in the house"  to comprehend the cause and effect  in the story.
  • Dramatize the story learning basic acting.

Happy New Year ! Welcome all back!



Inspired from the 200th anniversary for the Grimm's Fairy Tales, our Drama Class will have with each Grade a special project.

From Kiindergarten to Grade 5, we are going to meet the characters of famous stories such as "Hansel and Grettel", "The Frog Prince", "The White Snake" "Snow White" etc and play specially designed for the occasion Drama Games.

We will dare with the higher grades, starting from Grade 3 to combine the characters of different stories into a large Grimm Soup play  and create short scripts.
